ABELSoft’s Remote Monitoring and Administration Service
ABELSoft’s remote monitoring and administration service offers a combination of automatic monitoring, and manual scheduled maintenance performed remotely. For each computer that you include in your subscription ABELSoft will connect regularly, update the computer with critical security patches and appropriate additional patches, and perform a security and maintenance checklist. The system will also be monitored around the clock between manual checks by software that will alert us via the Internet on critical problems or events. ABELSoft will then take appropriate action as directed by you when you sign up.
ABELSoft recommends that practices at least cover their server under this subscription service. Since most practices have multiple computers that can also be mission critical and expose the practice to risk we suggest that you consider covering
all your computers under this subscription.
Some specific services included in the plan include:
- Confirm/Install Microsoft Windows updates
- Confirm/Install Microsoft Office updates
- Check and monitor disk space
- Check hard disk fragmentation, defrag when performance will benefit from defragmentation
- Monitor CPU usage and performance, investigate and report anomalies
- Check backup logs and act on problems
- Confirm Antivirus is current
- Check Antivirus logs, inform you when action is required
- Check and act on events like system errors, unusual security events, network errors, firewall events
- Software and hardware inventories allow detection of new software installation. Customers are notified when unusual differences are noted.
