Advance preparation is the best way to ensure your practice gets the most out of an ABELDent update. After extensive testing in many dental offices, ABELDent 8 is now shipping in volume. To ensure that our users benefit the most from numerous enhancements in the update, ABELSoft is holding Internet-based Training with Hands-On Practice sessions.
These sessions consist of presentation and hands-on practice to provide attendees a time and cost-effective way to learn how to use ABELDent 8 in a few short hours. With the many changes in version 8, you may otherwise have to spend more time than necessary trying to use unfamiliar features, or calling for support, in a busy practice environment. You may even miss out on important benefits altogether. As a result, we recommend that you coordinate the installation of the update with participation in these sessions for “just in time” training and hands-on practice that will prepare your whole team to benefit right away.
What do ABELSoft Internet-based Training with Hands-On Practice sessions entail?
They are ABELDent training sessions provided to small groups over the Internet. Group seminars conducted over the Internet are usually referred to as webinars (web based seminars). ABELSoft’s innovative sessions differ from traditional webinars in that they include both hands-on practice and one-on-one coaching. These sessions apply the principle that people learn more effectively when they are immediately able to practice what they learn. To provide you with focused training and the best value, we designed separate sessions for clinical and administrative users.
How are the sessions structured?
Each Internet-based Training session takes about 45 minutes and covers the new features and enhancements in ABELDent 8. A 15-30 minute interactive question and answer period follows, with the instructor responding to questions and providing training on specific scenarios requested by the attendees.
Immediately after the structured portion of the training, attendees can log on over the Internet to a copy of ABELDent 8 that is preloaded with sample data (this does not require, nor interfere with, your existing ABELDent installation). For this hands-on portion of the session, attendees can complete exercises provided by ABELSoft, at their own pace, for a period of up to two hours. ABELSoft representatives will be available to provide one-on-one assistance during this period.*
Why choose Internet-based Training with Hands on Practice over another form of training?
Internet-based Training with Hands-on Practice provides an effective, time-efficient opportunity to benefit from the ABELDent update. You will maximize your productivity by participating from your office, home or anywhere with a high speed internet connection and, unlike in-office training, you won’t incur the expense of a trainer’s travel. With the structured portion of the program lasting approximately one hour, and the hands-on period available for two hours after, these sessions can be more easily accommodated by a busy office. A course registration includes one Internet connection; there is no limit on the number of your staff that can attend a session. In addition, each registered attendee will receive a certificate that can be submitted for Continuing Education Credit.
What do I need to participate?
All you need to participate is a web browser and a high speed Internet connection. Once you register, you will receive an email invitation that includes easy-to-follow instructions and a link.
*For each connection, you receive a ½ hour support credit that can be used during the practice period or at any time after.

ABELDent 8 for Administrative Users
Learn about the improvements and new features in ABELDent 8 that will benefit you in your administrative responsibilities and tasks. You will learn:
- How to benefit from the resizable At A Glance patient summary information that is now available from any area of a patient’s record.
- How to increase efficiency through the reorganization and consolidation of information on fewer, more useful chart tabs.
- How to use a redesigned, more readable and information-rich Personal tab. How to improve your efficiency and better protect your data when adding or editing patient files or adding patients in family groups.
- How to add, view, edit or delete referrals in and out of the practice directly from the Personal tab.
- How to improve contact with patients through storage and use of an additional phone number for mobile phone numbers.
- How to improve patient’s upfront commitment to payment through additional payment options such as postdated credit card payments.
- How to use additional screen space and more compact note-keeping capabilities to improve tracking of patient appointments and contacts.

ABELDent 8 for Clinical Users
Learn about the improvements and new features in ABELDent 8 that will benefit you in your clinical responsibilities and tasks. You will learn:
- How to benefit from a redesign of ABELDent’s Imaging tab that is easier to use but also includes several new features. How to enhance images using a variety of tools, protect original copies of images to be enhanced and group/sort images for specific teeth.
