ABELMed CMS/EMR software achieves OntarioMD CMS
Specification version 2.0 certification

to announce that ABELMed CMS/EMR 7.0 clinical and practice management software
achieved the OntarioMD CMS Specification 2.0 certification on March 31, 2008 and
continues to be a product eligible for funding through the Physician IT
Program.
Standards for CMS solutions, developed through the Physician IT Program
of OntarioMD Inc., ensure that the solutions adopted by physicians meet or
exceed specific functionality and performance criteria. Under the CMS
specification 2.0, systems must demonstrate the ability to export and import
data to/from another CMS/EMR system to be certified.
An OntarioMD Inc. article1 states that, “The goal of CMS
Specification 2.0, and subsequent versions, is to improve CMS/EMR products to
meet the needs of Ontario physicians and facilitate information exchange with
other health-care providers.”
