   Given the rapid growth of AI-driven cyber threats, we are increasingly concerned about third-party communication systems that require read/write access to your ABELDent database. Please note that we do not, and have never had, any operational business relationship with vendors that access your data without a secure API provided by us. If you are using such third-party products, your patient data is increasingly at risk. To read from and write to an ABELDent database, these products, which may have good intentions, create access points that malicious third parties can also leverage. This level of access increases the likelihood that attackers can extract patient information, resulting in serious privacy breaches. While your practice is ultimately and totally responsible for safeguarding patient data, we are concerned about the heightened risks posed by third-party systems and the potential impact on your operations, compliance, reputation and the life of your practice. We can provide the best possible protection if you do not allow any third-party access to your data. However, with your formal approval and recognition of the incremental risk, we can provide secure API access to qualified third-party software vendors.
